Look, man, that name is just a guess. I don’t even know what the proper terminology is for this thing because I’ve never seen another one like it.

Yes, you are seeing what you think you’re seeing: a “New Style” round-top 360/12, but with a flat top and double binding. Someone on the RRF called it a “singleneck 362” when it appeared a few years back, and that pretty much nails it.

The story, when the guitar first surfaced about 10 years ago, was that the original owner “was signed by a record company in the early 1980's and was given this as an endorsement”, but who that artist is I have yet to learn—will edit once I do. This was made possible by the fact that custom ordereeebone-offs were not uncommon in the late F.C. Hall era.

As far as we know, this is the only one out there. And that…is pretty much all we know about it. And now you know it exists and kinda want one for yourself!

This one is documented in the Smith book as a 360/12WBBS.
“was signed by a record company in the early 1980's and was given this as an endorsement”, but we have no confirmation of this or even who the artist might have been"... Yes, endorsement guitar, with a ton of photos of them/him playing it on the web. They'll be on tour this year and I'll see if he wants to use it when they're in Atlanta...
It's not the same shape as the top 1/2 of 362. Whoever said that should look at it :)
I’ve never seen that one before..! I kinda like it 👍
