"Unlike the 4001FL, the fretless 3001 did not get the fancy larger pearl dot inlays.", but the 3000 fretted did get the fancy larger pearl dot inlays...

Geddy played a 3001 😝 BUUUUT that was like briefly in 1977. And the bassist from Franz Ferdinand has played his as his number one for decades.....but I don't even remember his name lol 🤷🏽‍♂️

Didn't he use it for Losing It in 1981, too? I know he used one as a backup stage bass for a bit.

I'd like to see "how people used/recorded the Rickenbacker." Like, okay, the 4001 has a classic growl - but how did people *record* it to get that classic sound? Same for the other models, actually: it'd be interesting to see how people applied these instruments.

Great article on a not-so-great bass model. (Sorry,not sorry😅).

The “Pbass on ster”-well, you know, 😉is apt because I always found them bloated and overweight.

But there are those who love them…..

Really liked the demuted bridge on the prototype.
