Ron, sorry for the delay in my response…I wanted to do the research first. That is a fascinating detail and great catch! It seems that from the launch of the 4003 in 79 through the end of 1984 they used a 2 piece neck. Guess they were really worried about the tension of those round wounds! Will update. Thanks again!
